Davis Commercial AZ continues to grow

Davis Commercial AZ announced that it has expanded its office with the hiring of an associate broker and a business development specialist.

Joining the firm is associate broker David Roberson and business development specialist Cathy Maloney.

Roberson, who previously worked at Phoenix Commercial Brokers for the past 6 years, has been involved in the sales, management, and development of commercial real estate in Arizona for most of his career.

His Arizona real estate experience began after moving to Scottsdale in 1998. Since obtaining his Arizona real estate broker’s license, he has been involved in more than 200 individual closed transactions totaling more than $215 million.

Roberson will be responsible for facilitating commercial real estate deals including self-storage site selection and land sales.

Maloney, a native of Chicago, is currently studying for her real estate license. In her new position, she will provide parttime business development services for Davis Commercial AZ including writing blogs, marketing support, client/economic development outreach, and book publishing assistance.

Maloney is founder and owner of Findzall Community Marketing, which supports independent business owners, municipal leaders, economic development professionals, downtown business districts, and chambers of commerce. Since 2001 she has provided marketing and communications strategies to connect with and attract businesses, shoppers, and visitors as well as educate merchants.

Snell & Wilmer welcomes Ray English as director of DEI

Snell & Wilmer announced that Ray English has joined the firm as its Senior Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). In this role, English will oversee the firm’s commitment to expanding and promoting diversity, fostering an inclusive culture, and supporting initiatives that positively impact the greater community.

English brings to the role three decades of experience in the legal profession, including public service, leadership in higher education, and DEI-focused consulting.  Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, English was the Assistant Dean of Career Services and Professor of Practice at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University. He attended Wentworth Military Junior College and was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate, receiving a commission in the U.S. Army Reserve. English received his Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University and Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. English served six years as a Staff Judge Advocate in the U.S. Air Force. Upon leaving the military, English was an Assistant Professor of Law teaching criminal law and litigation skills at the Appalachian School of Law. English then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he was the attorney/policy advisor for the Atlanta City Council and the Managing Director for a national legal staffing firm. Thereafter, he served as the Associate Director of Career Services at Georgia State University College of Law.

IndiCap brings on Geovanni Villalta

IndiCap, a boutique commercial real estate company specializing in industrial investment and development in the Arizona and Nevada sectors, announced today Geovanni Villalta, an accomplished professional with more than 20 years in the construction industry, has joined the IndiCap team as a senior development manager.

Villalta is highly proficient in construction management, conflict resolution, purchasing, material procurement, value engineering, cost control, phasing, and logistics planning, and 12 of his over 24 years of experience in the industry have been in specializing in industrial product types. In his previous role as the construction manager of the Southwest division of a national general contractor, he successfully led multiple operations teams and assisted in growing the office to more than $400 million in yearly revenue while overseeing and managing more than 7 million square feet of industrial product types.

Through his expansive background in the construction industry, Villalta has worked with all corporate levels of city officials, design professionals, and tradesman. His tenacity and knack for providing high-level construction coordination have ensured all projects he’s worked on exceeded the scheduling and financial goals that were set during planning.

Duet adds 6 new board members

Duet announced six new board members: Stephanie Bivens, Michael Cyrino, Jan Dougherty, Dawn Katuk, Maria Maskell and Cherry Perez.

“What a wonderful group of community minded individuals,” said Ann Wheat, executive director, Duet. “We are very excited to have their knowledge and expertise on our board. Many of them have volunteered with us, were raised by a grandparent or are currently caring for an aging parent and can relate to the services we offer.”

Stephanie Bivens, attorney at Bivens & Associates, PLLC, has over 25 years of elder law, special needs and estate planning experience.  Her specialties are contested and uncontested probate, guardianship and conservatorship.

Michael Cyrino, principal at Medicare Mike, LLC, is passionate and energetic about connecting people and improving the availability and access of healthcare to all.

Jan Doughtery, president of TravALZ, a dementia travel resource, is former director of family services for Banner Alzheimer’s Institute. She is a nursing expert and leader in dementia care.

Dawn Katuk, vice president at Global Learning and Development, is successfully established a global instructional design and development team delivering bespoke, technical insurance learning solutions for a company of 30,000+ employees.

Maria Maskell, retired from Arizona Public Service Company (APS) in 2020, after 37 years. She had community affairs experience and recently moved to Payson to enjoy retirement.

Cherry Perez, executive director and market manager, JP Morgan Chase Business Banking in Arizona.  She moved to Phoenix in September 2022 and has over 20 years of banking experience.
